A Full Circle Moment: Katrina Spencer Returns to Vinegar Hill Magazine
by Sarad Davenport
Vinegar Hill Magazine is proud to announce a familiar face is returning to its editorial team. Katrina Spencer, a veteran storyteller and truth-seeker, has rejoined the team as Associate Editor following a high-impact experience in academia.
Katrina previously served the publication as Editor & Content Manager, where she became known for her relentless attention to detail and to authentic community representation. She stepped away from the role to further hone her craft at the University of Texas at Austin, where she recently completed her Master’s in Journalism and Media. While she is currently based in Austin, she will be fulfilling her new editorial duties remotely, bridging the distance between Texas and Virginia through digital collaboration and modern journalism.
Katrina’s return brings a unique, multidisciplinary perspective back to the magazine. Her time in Austin and her work with outlets like Reporting Texas, Library Journal, and Charlottesville Tomorrow have only sharpened her journalistic instincts. She has a rare ability to look at writing and content to identify not just what is present, but—more importantly—what is missing.
A world traveler, Katrina is a global citizen who engages deeply with language and cultural study, Spencer’s return is Vinegar Hill’s continued commitment to elevated, intercultural work.
In her new role, Katrina will be instrumental in shaping the magazine’s voice, mentoring contributors, and ensuring that Vinegar Hill remains a premier destination for nuanced, honest storytelling. Whether she is behind the camera, at the editor’s desk, her return ensures that Vinegar Hill’s content will be as rigorous as it ever was.
