Charlottesville Chamber CEO Andrea Copeland Named Honoree for Virginia Business Magazine’s 2025 Women in Leadership Award

(Charlottesville, Virginia – August 18, 2025) The Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that President and CEO Andrea Copeland has been selected as an honoree for Virginia Business Magazine’s 2025 Women in Leadership Award. This prestigious recognition celebrates top women executives for their overall professional accomplishments, civic engagement, mentorship, and for breaking glass ceilings.
Copeland, one of several outstanding women recognized across the Commonwealth for her influence, leadership, and impact, recently made history as the first Black president in the Chamber’s 112-year history, a milestone that underscores her trailblazing leadership. In addition to this statewide honor, Copeland also received an official commendation from Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, recognizing her selection for the Women in Leadership Award and her contributions to outstanding leadership and professional excellence.
“Being honored alongside so many trailblazing C-Suite women across Virginia is truly humbling, and I share this recognition with every woman who has helped me along the way,” said Copeland. “I hope it inspires women to keep leading, influencing, breaking barriers, and giving back—no matter where they are in their career journey.”
This honor comes on the heels of Copeland’s promotion to President and CEO, a role she assumed after more than a decade of service and leadership within the Chamber. Her leadership journey has included key positions such as Director of Leadership Charlottesville, Director of Member Education Services, Chief Operating Officer, and most recently Interim CEO. Throughout her tenure, she has expanded member engagement, strengthened partnerships, and guided the organization through periods of growth and transition.
A native of Charlottesville, Copeland gives back through active mentorship of women, young professionals, and emerging leaders. She is also deeply engaged in the community through her service on regional boards and civic organizations. This work reflects her deep commitment to leadership development, business advocacy, and regional collaboration.
The Women in Leadership Awards Celebration will take place on October 6, 2025, at The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond.
