Zyahna Bryant Runs for Charlottesville City School Board
For Immediate Release – Charlottesville, VA – Zyahna Bryant, a lifelong Charlottesville resident and dedicated advocate for education and social justice, is excited to announce her candidacy for the Charlottesville City School Board. A campaign launch event will take place on March 1st at 4:30 PM at the Jefferson School African American Heritage Center, inviting community members to learn more about her vision for the future of Charlottesville City Schools.
Currently pursuing her M.A. in History at the University of Virginia, Bryant is no stranger to community advocacy. Her commitment to social activism began in her adolescence and has continued to shape her work as an organizer and thought leader.
“Our communities need us now more than ever. I believe in pouring back into the people, places, and things that we value the most. As a proud alumna of Charlottesville City Schools, I understand the importance of empowering the voices and visions of those who are from this community,” says Bryant.
As a School Board candidate, Bryant is focused on amplifying student voices, strengthening support for CCS educators and staff, and advancing policies that ensure equitable access to education for all students.
The launch event will serve as an opportunity for the community to engage with Bryant’s platform, ask questions, and discuss the future of Charlottesville’s public schools. Attendees will also have the chance to meet campaign volunteers and sign up for various support roles.
