Over sixty current college students from the United States are competing at this year’s Olympics. This cohort of athletes hails from a diverse range of institutions, underscoring the vital role American colleges and universities play in developing future Olympians.
According to the U.S. Olympic Committee, 592 members comprise Team USA, with three out of four of these athletes having played at the collegiate level. The extensive reach of Team USA’s college footprint includes all NCAA divisions, junior colleges, and collegiate club programs.
Among the top contributors, Stanford University stands out with seven students representing the institution. Indiana University, Princeton University, the University of Florida, and the University of Texas at Austin each boast five student-athletes competing on the global stage.
Ohio State University, the University of Arkansas, UCLA, and the University of Virginia each have three athletes participating in the Olympics.
